Heart of the Jungle by Ashalind Heart of the Jungle by Ashalind
I tried very hard to do this as quick as I could, but it pretty much took up most of the day. All up I'd say about 5 hours. So it's kind of a speed painting. A beautiful tigress in the comfort of her jungle kingdom (or queendom...whatever).

Watercolour and coloured pencils.
A3 thick watercolour paper.
Original for sale - US$100.

I looove the coloring in this. I only hope that one day my coloring skills will be that good. It definitely doesn't look like a speed painting. Overall it seems simplistic at first, but the more you look at it the more you see the tiny details like the soft textures in the background and the tigeress's fur. I think it overall gives off a serene, peaceful mood. Beautiful work!!

you know, i don't usually like anthro, really, but the detailing and the body structure... it's sublime. The feminine shape is barelly there; you managed to make it look like an actual real tiger with a feminine pose and not a female with a tiger form, if that makes any sense.

Also, the coloring, shading and whole technique is amazing. To know it only took you 5 hours of work to do this amazes me, honestly.

very pretty, i think this is my favorite out of your paintings :)
the details are wonderful, especially the face and jewelry, and the fur looks great. the background is awsome, the transition from light to deep colors really gives the atmosphere dimension.

Ooh, wow. Preeeetty. I think the proportions look good, us kitties, especially tigers do seem to have large heads, but they are all the better to eat things with >^..^< I dunno though, upper arms could have used a bit more thickening out to add some more muscle tone, but that depends on if you lean more towards human or animal in what you think as furry.

This is... Gorgeous. Beyond belief. :wow: I gasped when I saw it!

I love the anatomy and pose of the tigress. She looks so natural they way you've formed her, very realistic and believable! And also very pretty and her majestic natural look. I also love the body language of her pose and facial expression. Together with the painterly beauty of the verdant backdrop, this is one heck of an amazing piece of art! I admire everything about it.

I have no choice but to :+fav:.

The shading is wonderful, I adore her hair, it looks very natural in the way you have it falling over the shoulders.
Unique pose.

That's quite an awesome anthro there. My, I love what you did with the colors and the shading.

Face look slightly abrupt with the body, though. Know what I'm saying?

Is it too big, or is the anatomy incorrect? I've been looking at it too long, I can't tell.

Well, the left side of the face doesn't coordinate with the hair/mane part of the tiger.

I think that's the only thing that makes it look a bit weird.
